How to Convert PDF to Word and Check the Result

PDF to Word turns a PDF with real text into a .docx file in your browser, so the PDF is read on your own device. The default style, Same look, keeps each line where it was with its size, colour, bold and italic, writes it in Arial, and keeps lines, table borders, shaded boxes and pictures.

How to use this tool

  1. Open PDF to Word and choose one PDF file from your device.
  2. Wait for the page previews to load. This confirms the file is a readable PDF before anything is converted.
  3. Choose an output style. Same look (recommended) matches the PDF page by page. Simple editable text gives flowing paragraphs and tables.
  4. Select Convert to Word. Each page is read and drawn, then a .docx file is saved to your device.
  5. Open the file in Word and compare it with the PDF. Edit the text as usual; in Same look the text sits in fixed frames, so long edits may overlap neighbouring text.

What Same look keeps

Text keeps its position, size, colour, bold and italic, and is written in Arial. Lines, table borders, shaded boxes, logos and photographs are kept as a picture behind the text, so the page looks like the PDF. The text on top stays editable.

Limits to know

Because the graphics are one background picture per page, they cannot be edited separately and the file grows larger. All text is written in Arial, which every Windows and Mac computer has, so lines do not shift. If you prefer the fonts of the PDF itself, choose Keep the PDF fonts; fonts that are not installed on your computer are then replaced by similar ones, which can move text. Arabic, Urdu and other right-to-left PDFs are converted on a best-effort basis, so check them word by word. Scanned PDFs have no selectable text and cannot be converted without OCR.

Privacy

The PDF is opened and converted inside your browser and is not uploaded to NexaToolPro. The finished document downloads to the device you are using.

Frequently asked questions

Will the Word file look exactly like my PDF?

Same look is designed to match the PDF closely, including sizes, colours, tables and pictures, but it cannot be guaranteed identical in every case. Check the result in Word, especially for pages with unusual layouts.

Can I edit the text in the converted file?

Yes. In Same look each line is a separate text frame at its original position, so small edits are easy, but the text does not reflow around your changes. Choose Simple editable text if you plan to rewrite whole paragraphs.

Can I convert a scanned PDF to Word?

Not with this tool. A scan is a picture of text, so there is nothing to extract without OCR.

Is PDF to Word free?

Yes. It is a free browser tool and does not need an account.
