    How to merge PDF files

    1. Add your PDF files with the button, or drag and drop them onto the box above.
    2. Put the files in the order you want. Drag a file, or use the Up and Down buttons, and remove any file you do not need.
    3. Press “Merge PDFs”. The tool combines the files in the order shown.
    4. Your browser downloads the result as merged.pdf. Open it and check the page order before you share it.

    Merging PDF files in your browser

    This page uses the open-source pdf-lib library, which is bundled with the page and runs on your device. Your PDFs are read by your browser, combined in memory and saved straight back as a download, so your files never leave your device.

    Files are merged whole, in list order, and every page of each file is kept. Password-protected or damaged PDFs cannot be read and are reported when you add them.

    In what order are the files merged?

    In the order shown in the list, from top to bottom. Drag a file, or use the Up and Down buttons, to change the order before you press “Merge PDFs”.

    Is there a file size limit?

    There is no fixed limit in this tool, but your browser has to hold every file in memory while it merges them. Very large files, or very many pages, can make a phone or an older computer slow or stop. The page warns you when the total size gets very large; if that happens, merge fewer files at a time.

    Can I merge password-protected PDFs?

    No. This tool cannot read a password-protected file. If you know the password, remove it in a PDF viewer you trust, save an unlocked copy and add that file instead.

    Are my PDF files uploaded to a server?

    No. The merging happens in your browser with pdf-lib, which is bundled with this page, so your files never leave your device.

    Is the PDF merger free?
